Hello! I’m Paul – and the Managing Editor, and former A&E Editor of Grand Central Magazine. I’m a senior at Central Michigan University, and an editorial intern at Motor City Rocks.com. Through Grand Central Magazine I have learned about software, multimedia, interviews, writing, editing and the surprisingly good access a makeshift press-pass can ensure.

As A&E Editor, GCM presented me with countless interview opportunities, during which I made connections with artists such as: Ben Blackwell, Del the Funky Homosapien, Vic Ruggiero, One Be Lo, Moe Dirdee, Will Sessions, Black Milk, Two Fresh, Peter “Zebbler” Berdovsky, and many more… After providing coverage at the Electric Forest Music Festival during the summer of 2011, I realized the advantages of being a journalist – and that I could never again live without them.

Since my revelation, my roles at GCM have changed significantly. Managing Editor really just means, “I love emails, ordering things and bossing people around.” Not in that particular order…

In all seriousness, GCM has taught me much more than AP Style, and what it means to be a journalist; it has taught me that hard work is inevitably rewarded, opportunity knocks when you least expect it, and that the importance of preparation can never be overstated. I am extremely proud to be a part of this award-winning publication, and to work with such a talented group of student editors.

Any additional information about myself will surely be answered in this video. Enjoy! … and keep reading!
