Beijing – Motion

The literal translation of the Mandarin characters for China (中国) is Middle Kingdom. This title, it seems, is becoming increasingly fitting. Not a day goes by where China’s name does not cross the lips of politicians, businessmen and journalists the world over. China is now an important part of the global conversation, but the global conversation is often rife with speculation, rumor and misunderstanding. An honest portrait of China and its people is necessary in order to understand how to relate to it on the world stage, and there is no more honest an instrument than the camera.
