March 13, 2016 Drinks, Drinks, Food, Food & Beverage, Recipes #SundaySwirl: Cookies and Cream Smoothie I don’t know about you, but being in college often has me reminiscing about how easy I had things as a child – and the sweet snacks I was provided after a long day at school that involved Oreo’s or Chips Ahoy! And, this week’s #SundaySwirl let’s you choose the indulgent snack, too (yes, it involves cookies!) and it’s still healthy (for the most part). Ingredients ½ of a frozen banana 1 cup of vanilla or plain yogurt 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1 cup of milk 5 chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreo or generic brand) Whipped cream or whipped topping Cookie crumbs (optional, for garnish) Recipe In a blender, combine the banana, yogurt and milk. Crush the cookies in a sealed, thick plastic baggie. Mix ¾ of the crushed cookies into the smoothie. Top with whipped cream or topping (optional), then sprinkle the remaining cookie crumbs on top. Just because you’re a “big kid” now and expected to choose healthier options, does not mean you can’t indulge a little and you can still enjoy your cookies! Did you enjoy this recipe?
