September 7, 2013 Drinks, Food, Recipes Add some excitement to your bagel Don’t get stuck in the habit of only eating bagels with cream cheese. The fresh baked bread shape in the form of a ring has become a favorite among people all over the country. Not only because it’s a quick fix, but because of the several recipes involved with the toasted snack. When it comes to recipes for bagels, the possibilities are endless: Bagel with ham and cheese: Cut your bagel in half and throw one or two pieces of ham in between your bagel along with a slice of cheese. You can also melt the cheese in and toast your bagel in the oven to give your sandwich a more crispy taste. Bagel with turkey, cheese and lettuce: If you’re not a fan of ham, throw a piece of turkey in between your bagel after you cut it in half. Then, add a slice of swiss cheese. You can also cut some lettuce to put in between your bagel as well. Veggie bagel: Give your bagel a healthier twist by adding vegetables along with the cream cheese. Cut your bagel in half and spread each side with cream cheese. Afterwards add slices of cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, lettuce and any other ingredients you want on to your sandwich. Pizza bagel: With a small jar of Ragu pizza sauce and a bag of shredded mozzarella cheese, you can make pizza bagels as well. Grab a knife and spread the sauce on top of the bagel then sprinkle cheese on top of the sauce. Bake the bagel in the oven until it turns golden brown and the cheese is melted. Bagel with cheese, egg and sausage: If you rather stick to eating bagels only for breakfast, replace the cream cheese with eggs, cheese and sausage. Similar to a McMuffin from McDonald’s, layer your bagel with a scramble egg, one or two slices of cooked sausage and a slice of cheddar cheese.
