“Do It for the ‘Gram:” The Most Instagram-able Spots on Campus

Story and Photo by Sydney Fairman

With the new semester just barely starting, there are only a few more sunny summer weeks upon us before fall begins. So of course it only makes sense to take advantage of these few weeks by scoping out the best places on campus for Instagram pictures. Grand Central has you covered; below are four spots on campus that suit all your Instagram needs and aesthetics.

Fabiano Botanical Garden
Located in the heart of campus, this four-acre garden features a wide variety of flowers, shrubs, trees and a newly constructed waterfall. All of this (as well as the famous gazebo) make this the perfect spot for all your photo and caption ideas.

Biosciences Building
A newer addition to east campus, the Biosciences Building is a haven for both science majors and Instagram enthusiasts. Its living plant walls and aquariums that adorn the building’s walkway provide a picture-perfect backdrop (and quiet study place as well).

Brooks Hall Greenhouse
Arguably campus’ most underrated, not-so-hidden gem, Brooks Hall Greenhouse features a wide range of plants from desert cacti to a venus flytrap. Take a walk on the wild side and make this the scene for your next post!

The Seal
The Central Michigan University seal, located near the grounds of Warriner Hall, is probably the most recognizable spot on this list. It’s practically a staple for every CMU student to have their picture taken in front of the seal. If you haven’t already, make this the first stop for your next Instagram post!
