Winter has officially arrived at CMU, and staying stylish in the cold doesn’t have to be a challenge. For fashion inspiration this season, we looked to the expertise of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) at CMU, as well as the creative style of fellow students. Both AATCC members and students at CMU continue to demonstrate a passion for fashion, even as the temperature drops.

One of the members of AATCC, Mary Germilhac, said that when it comes to the winter season, her favorite piece of clothing is her lime green winter coat.

CMU student, AJ Ducey, said her favorite winter fashion piece would be her leg warmers.

Member of the AATCC, Marisa Fisher, said her favorite winter fashion piece would be her black and teal track jacket.

CMU student, Lucía Domínguez Rodríguez, said her favorite winter fashion piece would be a sweater that can be layered.

Member of the AATCC, Sophia Oster, said her favorite winter fashion piece would be her white fur-lined coat.

Oster gets her fashion inspiration from older movies and icons from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. She loves vintage fashion, so any older inspiration is what she uses to influence what she wears on a day-to-day basis.

Fashion never goes away, even during the colder months. There are many ways to bundle up while also staying stylish. You can embellish your outfits by incorporating statement pieces, such as colorful tights or a fun sweater. Embrace winter fun and experiment with your fashion.
