Makeup Must-Haves: Chelsea Derks

Makeup maven, Chelsea Derks, a junior at Central Michigan University, lives by the philosophy – embrace your natural allure.

“My biggest makeup pet peeve is the wrong shade of foundation on a girl; when there is an obvious line of makeup at the jaw, that is the worst,” Derks said.

Instead, she applies foundation only where it is absolutely needed.

“I like to spot treat my foundation, dabbing it onto the skin where needed.”

To flatter her flawless olive complexion, Derks is all about that added pop of color.

“If I could only have one item in my makeup bag, hands down it would be blush. It provides instant color and contour to my face.”

After creating a clean, fresh canvas, she loves to play up her favorite feature: her brilliant blue eyes.

“I’m obsessed with Physicians’ Formula eye shadow palette for blue eyes,” Derks said. “It’s the perfect color combination for everyday use or even for a dramatic evening eye.”

To polish off her seductive eyes, Derks always reaches for her L’Oreal Clean Definition Telescopic Clean Definition & Lengthening Mascara.

“This mascara does it all, from separating every lash to lengthening. With just a few coats, I’m good to go.”
