January 14, 2014 Community, Lifestyle, Students Mount Pleasant apartment guide There are so many options when looking for apartments in Mount Pleasant. It can be overwhelming to students. Fret no more, we can help make your choice easier. The Village at Bluegrass With so many apartments, The Village at Bluegrass tries to make its residents feel more at home. There is always a monthly social activity hosted Bluegrass. Some examples of these are pool parties with free food, Resident Appreciation Day, or just having small freebies for residents in their office from time to time. Parking is no problem for residents or guests. If friends or parents come to visit, they can park anywhere that is not against a sidewalk or curb because those spots are reserved for each resident. The apartment complex is just over a mile from campus, which isn’t too bad as there is a free shuttle to and from campus. The rooms are spacious and these apartments come fully furnished including a washer and dryer. Bluegrass apartments come in many floor plan options, with a fit for almost anyone’s wishlist. The most popular include a four bedroom four bathroom, four bedroom two bathroom, and a three bedroom three bathroom style. Residents also have access to a club room, fitness room, pool, hot tub and tanning bed. Tallgrass Just over a mile from campus, Tallgrass offers two or four-bedroom apartments. Every unit has a washer and dryer, as well as cable and internet. Tallgrass also offers a free shuttle service to and from campus. What stands out about Tallgrass is not the full kitchen and dishwasher, believe it or not, but most students appreciate Tallgrass because every resident has their own bathroom. Don’t forget about the Tallgrass Promise either. “If you have two people in a two bedroom apartment, or four people in a four-bedroom townhouse and you re-rent your same apartment with the maximum number of renters,” Tallgrass will not raise your rent for three years. This promise makes it a very affordable option for many students. University Meadows About a half-mile from campus, University Meadows offers a wide variety of apartment styles. Residents have access to a free shuttle to campus, a hot tub, internet, cable and a full-sized washer and dryer. University Meadows is pet friendly and is a smaller community environment. University Meadows also hosts many events to give the residents a chance to network and hang out. They offer 24-hour fitness, as well as a computer and recreation center to all residents. With a sand volleyball court, a basketball court, a swimming pool and hot tub, residents have many activities to keep them busy when not occupied by schoolwork. University Meadows offers four bedroom two bathroom, three bedroom two bathroom and a three bedroom three bathroom style as choices for residents. Copper Beech The spacious floor plan in Copper Beech townhouses is one of its major selling points. Copper Beech has townhouses rather than the typical apartment setup, so the bedrooms and closet space are larger than most. Each townhouse is slightly different, they vary from one to four bedrooms. Internet and cable is provided, along with 24-hour clubhouse or hang out room and fitness center access. There are selected units of Copper Beach that are pet friendly, allowing animal-lovers to bring their pets from home. Timber Creek Though it may not be as large of an apartment complex, Timber Creek makes up for it in other ways. Pets are allowed here. The parking is free and there is onsite laundry for residents. Best of all, every utility is included in rent. An indoor heated pool, a basketball court, and a volleyball court are available for residents to enjoy their apartment complex and stay active. Each apartment has a balcony and offers one, two, or three-bedroom floor plans. United Apartments United Apartments has many options spread across the outskirts of Central Michigan’s campus. They offer more layouts than any other apartment ownership. United has video tours, floor plans, and pricing all on their website. Some of the apartments are pet friendly, such as Jamestown. The units come in apartment and townhouse styles, depending on the complex. United Apartments has 16 different properties across campus. Emerald Village is a unique two bedroom, two bathroom duplex. This complex is different than most because t comes with a one car garage and has the feeling of living in your own home. Jamestown is popular because it is pet friendly and because it can hold one to five people depending on your specific floor plan. Yorkshire Commons is also pet friendly. They have a patio or balcony attached to a bedroom and two bathroom floor plan. Jamestown, owned by United Apartments, is a pet friendly apartment complex.
