Finding a great Korean restaurant can be hard to come by in a place like Mount Pleasant, but not anymore.  There is a recently opened traditional Korean restaurant called Shin’s located next to B-tan on south Mission Road.  This quant family-owned restaurant has been open more than a year.

Customers are treated like family upon walking in the door because employees take time to explain the authentic Korean menu to better enhance the decision-making process. The service is fast, with entrees being delivered in 15 minutes or less. Shin’s has plenty of seating with comfortable booths that add to the overall casual atmosphere.

Shin’s has an authentic Korean menu consisting of a variety of meats, noodles, and vegetables, all of which are prepared fresh daily.  The menu has five meal options to choose from, ranging from Bul-Go-Gi, which is seasoned barbecued beef with an authentic Korean sauce with vegetables to Job-Chae, which is sweet potato noodles with a medley of vegetables such as mushrooms and spinach, then topped off with an egg.

When ordering, customers are served an entrée with three different traditional Korean side dishes.  One is Kimchi, which is spicy seasoned cabbage served with a minced yellow cabbage; both are served cold.  Third, is a clear bean broth soup.

Prices at Shin’s range from $1.50 to $10.00. The meal of choice was the Dak-Bouk-Goom. Dak-Bouk-Goom is stir-fried chicken with a special Korean sauce, served with a variety of vegetables over rice.  The chicken itself was very tender and infused with a powerful and tangy yet sweet flavor.

Shin’s offers their customers the option to dine in or take out food and they have a catering service. The overall quality of the food is good and allows for an enjoyable dining experience.
