When it comes to looking fashionable, it can be hard to find the right outfit on a budget. Thrifting is an easy way to elevate your wardrobe.

CMU students and the community had the opportunity to attend Threads Fashion Show annual “Thrifting with Threads” event that took place on March 17 to March 19, in the Bovee UC Rotunda.

The money raised will go toward their fashion show that is taking place on Saturday, April 12.

There were many options to choose from, whether that be gently used clothes, accessories or shoes. These items were donated by students and the community.

“We post flyers and stuff on social media, and we ask students and the community to donate clothes, we pick them up, and we have donation sites around campus,” Sophia Oster, Financial Director of Threads said.

Piper-Rae Davis, Producer for Threads said on the last day of the event, they have a fill a bag for $5.

“What’s left over we donate to the women’s shelter here in Mount Pleasant,” Davis said.

Prices for the items were $10 or under, which made it cheap for all students and the community to buy.
