October 19, 2013 Campus Fashion, Student Styles, Style, Trend and Beauty A game day look for every style With homecoming right around the corner, game day fashionistas all over campus are planning their looks for the big day. From preppy to sporty, the ladies of Central Michigan University are showing their Chippewa spirit with style worthy of tailgating and trotting around town. “Getting ready is one of my favorite parts of going to the games. It’s fun showing off my fun finds,” junior Amanda LaCroix said. Gone are the days when a simple t-shirt and a pair of jeans fit the bill. Game day has become yet another opportunity for campus trendsetters to do what they do best— work it. So how can you get a chic ensemble fit for victory? Here are five winning get-ups for every kind of game day gal. Boho Fancy yourself a bohemian babe? Try a flowing maxi skirt in burgundy, a loose fitting white t-shirt and a knitted scarf in mustard. Toss in a few gold mid-finger rings like this one by Forever 21, and you’re well on your way to the best dressed list. Edgy Edge is always in. For a look that would make Spunky Spice proud, (okay so there was no spunky, but there should have been!) pair a burgundy skinny jean with a cut-off tee sporting the Flying C. Add black combat boots and a spiked bangle like this one from Tobi, and win, lose or draw, you’ve got a fashion victory to brag about. Glam Looking to the Kardashians for your fashion inspiration? Work it like Kim with a burgundy leather jacket, mustard tank and dark, high-waisted jeans. Pull it together with a pair of to-die-for heeled boots, gold hoop earrings and a dark red lip to wow the game day crowd with your Central inspired chic. Preppy Make prepsters everywhere jealous in a mustard vest and burgundy gingham button down. Dark jeans and riding boots finish this look off. Keep your accessories simple with a pair of stud earrings and you’ll take home the trophy for most fashionable fan. Sporty While you’re explaining football to all your girly besties from the stands, look as fierce as you feel in a Central jersey and dark, fitted, boot cut jeans. Add a pair of classic Converse and a baseball hat, complete with loose curls and you’ve got an easy look perfect for telling the ladies what’s what on the sidelines. All of these styles will take you from the stands to the street, no problem! Whether your team takes home the win or not, you’ll definitely come out on top when you flaunt your school spirit, while staying true to you, this homecoming weekend.
