November 24, 2014 Campus Fashion, Style, Style From Casual to Glam: What to Wear this Thanksgiving The semester is winding down, the cold weather is becoming constant and student determination is at an all-time low. What do all these signs point to? None other than the approaching Thanksgiving break. With talk of group projects and final exams, the last thing you’re probably thinking about is your wardrobe for Thanksgiving, but don’t worry. Try one of these looks to be the best-dressed family member of them all. Look 1: Classic & Casual If your Thanksgiving plans are laid back, try pairing your favorite blue jeans with a fall flannel and riding boots. This look is a classic for the awkward fall-winter in between weather. Add a scarf or your go-to necklace to make it your own. Look 2: Food Baby Rescue Thanksgiving usually means lots of amazing food. If you don’t want to wear sweats, but you know jeans will be a problem when trying to disguise your food baby – try this look. An oversized sweater-dress with some festive tights and a pair of booties looks chic and effortless, while providing a very important comfort factor. The best part? No one will notice your food baby (which might be pretty far along). Look 3: Thanksgiving Glam This look is more for the fashion daring. If you’re going to a fancy dinner, or just want to dress up, try this look to stand out. Grab a flannel and tuck it into a gold or black sequin skirt. Transparent black tights and flats will offset set the sparkle and make the look balanced. Look 4: The Edgier, the Better For those girls whose closets consist of primarily black – this look is for you. Faux-leather leggings, a baggy white t-shirt and a slouchy cardigan paired with a statement necklace will create the appearance that you just stepped off the runway. If you’re feeling extremely bold, try pairing this look with a holiday-inspired red lip.
