The Central Michigan University Faculty Association announced a work stoppage for Monday, August 22, 2011. While many part-time faculty members were still contractually obligated to hold classes, many CMU students protested alongside faculty.

As of the publication of this article and photo gallery, Judge Paul Chamberlain has ordered all CMU Faculty back into the classroom to resume teaching. The order comes at the request of the administration, and the faculty said they will adhere to it.

Before the court order was issued, faculty members and students engaged in picket lines and protests throughout CMU’s campus.
