November 2, 2015 Drinks, Drinks, Food & Beverage, Recipes The Monday Mix: Caramel Apple Sangria Now that Halloween is over, children will count their candy, trade it amongst their siblings and be sure to pack a few pieces in their school lunches. This sequence may last for months, and for those of us who no longer trick-or-treat, we too can endulge in a post-Halloween festive sweet treat: Caramel Apple Sangria. This drink is the best way to get rid of any leftover orchard apples and is simple to make. Ingredients: 1 750 ml bottle of pinot grigio (or your favorite white wine) 1 cup of caramel flavored vodka (such as Kissed Caramel Smirnoff) 6 cups of apple cider 2 apples chopped (my personal go-to is honey crisp) Recipe: Stir the wine, vodka and apple cider together in a pitcher. Mix in the chopped apples. Pour into a glass and serve the sangria over ice. You can also make this drink sparkle by just adding one cup of club soda.
