October 9, 2013 Campus Fashion, Student Styles, Style, Trend and Beauty Using Pinterest to style your outfit with boots Every fashionista knows that boots are the best footwear when it comes to fall. There are combat boots, riding boots, heeled boots, ankle boots, knee-high boots, calf-length boots, thigh-high boots and several other styles. With so many different types of boots, you can wear boots with just about any outfit, which is something Pinterest has taught freshman Megan Seamans. “Pinterest has shown me that you can literally wear boots with anything, which has been really helpful because I’m not able to use my boots year round,” Seamans said. Seamans’ favorite type of boots are calf-length boots with buckles and zippers, she said. “They make me feel like I could go to the country or out and about and still look good,” Seamans said. Her favorite boot-inspired outfit that she saw on Pinterest consisted of a long denim shirt, a white cardigan, a printed scarf, black leggings and brown calf-length boots with grey legwarmers. “I like to wear boots with leggings and some high socks because they make a comfy outfit super cute,” Seamans said. Another boot style that has been seen on Pinterest pairs a white T-shirt with a navy cardigan, olive skinny jeans, black knee-high boots and a matching plaid scarf. This outfit is perfect for class or a day out on the town. A more comfortable look on Pinterest included an over-sized grey sweater with blue skinny jeans, a pink infinity scarf, pink studs and grey knit boots. This look is best for those chilly fall days late in the season. Photo Illustration | Brianna Owczarzak Pinterest shows many different styles from classy to comfortable that incorporate boots. However, boots tend to be more expensive than other types of footwear, so college students may not be able to own a variety of different types of boots. If this is the case, the best type of boot to buy is a brown or black calf-length pair. These boots look great with just about any outfit from leggings and skinny jeans to summer dresses. Two popular stores for these Pinterest inspired outfits are Charlotte Russe and T.J.Maxx.
