Central Paws hosts first meeting of the semester!

Story by Katherine Brown

Central Paws an RSO focused on animal advocacy and volunteering hosted its first meeting of the semester on Jan. 30. During the meeting E-board members introduced themselves and the club.

This is sophomore Sarah Loyal’s fourth semester being a member of Central Paws. Loyal said she first heard about the RSO as a freshman and thought it sounded like something fun to get involved with. Loyal doesn’t have any pets at home so she has enjoyed getting to spend time with dogs during the club meetings and when she is volunteering.

Mkenzi Bowens has been a member since 2021 and is currently serving as the president. Her favorite part about Central Paws is going on Pack walks which is when they volunteer to take dogs from the local humane shelter and take them for walks through campus.

Kelsey Pado the treasurer said, “We are way more than just about dogs and cats we have so much than what is assumed.”

Central Paws meets bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. in Anpach 155. Its next meeting will be on Feb. 13 and it will be a Valentine’s Day social.
