January 28, 2015 Campus Fashion, Style Don’t Sweat it: Must-Have Gym Apparel for Every Workout It’s a new year, which means many are resolving to get serious about establishing a workout routine. Pumped and motivated, you are ready to hit the gym. But do you have the clothes to match your enthusiasm? Gym attire has to reflect how you will be moving and what you are comfortable in. Whether it’s running, yoga or another fitness class, comfortable clothes are essential for every gym-time activity. Footwear Choose running or athletic shoes – and be sure to break them in ahead of time to avoid blisters or discomfort during your workout. Wear with socks that are not too thick so you aren’t weighed down and have foot mobility. Bottoms Since the boom of yoga pants, these stretchable and movable pants are being worn to the gym by women everywhere. The light, form-fitting style and flexibility of the material allows you to move comfortably. If yoga pants aren’t your style, keep it simple with running shorts. Shorts are light and minimal, so you won’t feel too restricted while you’re getting your workout on. Tops Chances are, most of the tops you already own can be rocked at the gym. An old t-shirt, a plain v-neck or a cute quarter zip-up can easily transition from lazy day apparel to active wear for weight lifting and running. Prefer athletic wear to what you have in your closet? Fitness shirts and tanks are fit to allow your arms and torso to move easily, in addition to being a cute gym staple. Sports Bras From plain and simple to colorful and patterned, sports bras come in a variety of styles. Sporting a comfortable bra is essential to completing proper work out attire. No need to worry about pinching bras or falling straps – a sports bra offers the right amount of support. And the best part? It feels like it’s barely there.
