January 28, 2015 Drinks, Food & Beverage Wine Wednesday: Ten signs you need a glass of wine We all have those days where we seem to be riding the struggle bus – some days more so than others. However, there is one simple cure to these stressful days: Wine. If you find yourself in one or more of these unfortunate situations, it might be a sign that it’s time to pour yourself a glass (or four). You just spent the entire day working on a 10-page research paper and all of a sudden, your laptop crashes. And you forgot to hit “save.” Over the last few months, you’ve been putting in late nights at work and doing extra side jobs to get that new promotion at work, and the brand new intern lands the position. You accidentally spill your $6 Starbucks all over your just-cleaned car. As if seeing your crush on campus isn’t nerve wracking enough, you trip over your feet and get cozy with the tile floor. Maybe going over the speed limit by 10 miles per hour wasn’t the best idea, but you had places to be. The cop decides to be generous this time with only a $150 ticket. You swear you put your keys in your backpack and didn’t leave them inside your apartment this time. However, you find yourself locked out in below freezing temperatures desperately trying to find the easiest window to break into. Figuring out you have to ace the final in order to pass your hardest class. It’s not like you put off studying to the last possible second or anything… You’re shopping at the grocery store and your card gets declined in front of a long line of impatient parents and grumpy old women. Looks like you forgot that all of your bills were automatically taken out of your bank account – yesterday. It’s a family holiday, and you’re being bombarded by questions from your overly curious, yet loving family members. Are you still single? How’s school? Have you started looking for jobs yet? The only question you’re interested in is, “Where’s the wine?” You find yourself unable to think or speak clearly after a long day of class and work, and you start nervously questioning your major and life choices. Don’t worry. Just kick back, relax and let the wine take over.
