October 22, 2012 Campus Fashion, Style, Trend and Beauty From Runway to Everyday: Pulling off oversized sweaters With the crisp fall air rapidly transforming into a sharp winter wonderland, we are in need of some fresh ways to avoid the cold. One way to stay warm is throwing on an oversized sweater. Oversized sweaters are comfortable and weather appropriate. They can be dressed up or down, and can be perfect for almost any occasion. Available in a wide variety of colors and styles, the oversized sweater will make a good addition to any winter wardrobe. There are various ways to wear an oversized sweater. Taking a single-colored sweater and matching it with a scarf and a winter hat will not only show you’re trendy, but also keep you warm. A unique graphic sweater can add a personal flare to any style. Pair a graphic sweater with different patterns and textures, such as stripes or leather, to adjust the level of formality. The graphic sweater is a unique way to enhance your wardrobe and showcase your personal style. Caro freshman Elise Pelletie bought her patterned sweater from Target. “It’s comfy, yet stylish,” she said. To make this trend unique, Pelletie adds accessories such as bracelets, headbands, and long necklaces. “Oh, and cute boots,” she adds. The oversized sweater is a comfortable and stylish way to add some life to any wardrobe without taking too much of a fashion risk. The versatility of this trend also gives it a timeless appeal. Another convenient aspect of the oversized sweater trend is its effortlessness. The sweater does most of the work for you and it works with basically any look you are trying to achieve.
