October 9, 2009 Food & Wellness Students, USA Today See Saturday’s Game as a Blowout Central enters this weekend's Homecoming game against Eastern Michigan as 23-point favorites according to USA TODAY. Central Michigan will play host to Eastern Michigan this Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Central (4-1 overall, 2-0 in the MAC) comes into Saturday’s contest as a heavy favorite against winless EMU (0-4, 0-1 in the MAC). Central, a 23-point favorite according to USA TODAY, will look to remain undefeated in Mid-American Conference play. Bay City junior, Andrew Robinson, believes Central not only needs a victory Saturday, but needs to win by a large margin. “If Central plans on getting in the Top 25 at all this season, they have to beat teams like Eastern by multiple touchdowns,” Robinson said. “Style points are everything when it comes to the AP Poll and Central already faces an uphill battle due to the conference they play in.” Central Michigan lost their first game against University of Arizona, 19 – 6, but has bounced back, winning their last four games, including a thrilling victory against Michigan State University. Robinson does not expect a similar game this week against Eastern Michigan University. “If you told me that Central would pull out a narrow victory against Eastern Michigan I would simply ask two questions,” Robinson said. “When did Dan LeFevour sit and why did he wait until the fourth quarter to come back in?” Despite Robinson’s expectations, along with many others, the Eastern Michigan vs. Central Michigan game always proves to be a highly competitive contest. Eastern despite their inferior record against most other programs, has won four out of the last five games against Central by a combined score of 205-199.
