The Monday Mix: Mai Tai Cocktail

The snow is melting, the sun is shining and spring break is two weeks away. I repeat – spring break is two weeks away!

The need to day drink is creeping into the minds of everyone and a fruity taste of sunshine is an absolute must.

So, rather than day dream of your upcoming spring break plans that obviously include a colada or two, make a Mai Tai Cocktail.

This drink is just what you need to dive into a sunshine state of mind with the perfect island getaway taste.

  • 1.5 ounces of spiced rum
  • 1.5 ounces of coconut flavored rum
  • 1 teaspoon of grenadine syrup
  • 3-ounces of pineapple juice
  • 2-ounces of orange juice
  • ice cubes
  • Garnish: any slice of fruit (orange, lemon, lime, cherry, etc.)
  1. Begin by putting ice into a cocktail mixer.
  2. Then, combine all the ingredients: spiced rum, coconut rum, grenadine, pineapple and orange juice.
  3. Shake the mixer and strain the drink into an ice-filled glass.
  4. Add any fruit to the rim for garnish. Enjoy!
