The Wake-Up Make-Up Routine

No one wants to wake up hours before class to apply a full face of makeup, do their hair and pick out a relatively cute outfit.

It’s those weekday mornings that make being a girl even more stressful. Grand Central eases the morning beauty process – and allows you to snag a few more z’s – using this easy five-minute morning makeup routine.

The Face: 120 Seconds

Start with a bb cream or a foundation. Try CoverGirl’s Outlast Stay Fabulous for a three-in-one powerhouse. Apply lightly with a beauty sponge, brush or with clean hands.

Make sure to concentrate the foundation under the eyes using your ring finger to cover those dark circles you got from late night studying.

Then, take a blush or skin finish and sweep it over the apples of your cheeks to give your face some dimension.

The Eyes: 120 Seconds

Sweep a neutral brown shade over the entire eyelid like one in Nyx’s natural palette. Then, concentrate a little bit of a darker brown in the crease of your eye.

Put a highlight color directly underneath your eyebrow on the brow bone and do the same in the inner corner of your eyes to make you look more awake. Next, grab your favorite mascara.

Apply a coat or two to your entire lashes. Then, concentrate the mascara wand at the root of your lashes and wiggle it a bit to create the illusion that you put on eyeliner.

The Brows:  30 seconds

Make sure brows are neat, and if definition is necessary, pick a matte shadow that closely matches your brow shade. Starting at the end of the brow, lightly define them.

The Lips: 20 Seconds

Apply a tinted lip balm, like Nivea’s “A Kiss of Shimmer” over your lips for an added element of color and shine.
