November 19, 2012 Campus Fashion, Featured, Student Styles, Style, Trend and Beauty What to Wear Here: Thanksgiving dinner Make Thanksgiving more than just the food and show off an outfit that is both trendy and fit for hanging out with the family. On Thursday, we’ll be facing turkey, macaroni and cheese and stuffing all in one plate. What should you wear to such a fest? Thanksgiving isn’t for the nightclub outfits or the craziest outfit you can come up with; this is a family gathering. This outfit can be perfect whether the dinner is at home or out of town with the grandparents. You want to feel comfortable since you are here to “pig out.” Tight clothes will not be a good choice. That doesn’t mean sweats are the conclusion; you should want to look nice for the evening with your family. Be prepared for the camcorders and camera being out so look your best. For the girls: Try a knee-length dress that flares at the bottom with a stretchy waistline, a nice loose cardigan to go on top and cute, flat boots. Not into dresses? Well, you can’t go wrong with black pants and a sweater topped off with a scarf or a few of your favorite piece of jewelry to add a sense of individuality. Another tip to consider is to bring a purse with you — but keep it small. No purse should take up a seat that should’ve been for your great uncle. For the guys: You want to be able to look sharp but also comfortable enough for when it’s time to relax after a long tasteful meal. Try a loose fitting button up with some dark blue jeans. Wear a nice belt to bring extra style to the outfit and some comfortable loafers to walk around and say hello to everyone in the room. Not a big fan of button ups? Pair a sweater with some nice khaki pants that complement the sweater and causal shoes or some nice boots. Another thing to consider: a fresh cut hair. Nothing looks better than a nice clean cut. With these ideas for an outfit, you can’t go wrong. Spend time with your family in style because what other way is there? Photo credit: Sierra Thomas
