October 8, 2014 Drinks, Drinks Wine Wednesday: Must-Visit Wineries and Vineyards In the U.S. After college, students scatter. Many get full-time jobs both inside and outside of Michigan while some take time off to travel and explore different options. No matter where you end up after graduation, make sure to make a pit-stop at one of these top wineries and vineyards across the country. Known for their beautiful settings, delicious wines and the irreplaceable experiences they provide, a visit is one you won’t soon forget. Hendry Ranch Wines – Napa, California Run by the Hendry family, this winery offers a educational and comprehensive tour that explains each detail of how each of their wines are produced. This establishment has received many awards and honorable mentions and attracts many tourists. Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard – Peconic, New York This beautiful vineyard offers a warm, home-like feel upon arrival. Visitors are given a private tour of the winery and vineyard before sampling some of the best chardonnay and merlot in the state. King Family Vineyards – Crozet, Virginia From chardonnay to malbec, this vineyard is one of the most well-known of its kind in the state. With beautiful surroundings and great weather, this is a hot spot for many large events. Chehalem Winery – Newberg, Oregon From fruity to oaky, this vineyard produces wine that even the pickiest connoisseurs have a taste for. Beautiful in the summer, fall and spring, this is a prime destination if you find yourself on the west coast.
