Winter trends can roll over with the same pieces from fall by adding more layers, accessories and styling pieces in a new way. Central Michigan University junior Maeve Erhard loves sherpa hoodies. “They’re super cute and keep me warm without a winter coat,” Erhard said. Senior Nick Richez mainly wears sweatshirts with jeans or sweatpants with casual boots or shoes. A sweater is an easy way to dress up a look while still being cozy and comfortable. “For holidays or parties, I’ll wear khakis or black jeans with a nicer shirt or sweater,” Richez said. Adding a hat or heavy coat helps develop more of a winter look to each outfit, especially for those colder days. Some other popular fashion trends this winter include leather, puffer jackets, long coats and accessories. It doesn’t take much to transition your style from one season to another. With most trends, you’re able to follow them by using pieces in your closest that you already have without needing to break your budget on new pieces.
