A Noteworthy Binge: Bob’s Burgers

Dealing with family is tough but no matter how annoying or different everyone is somehow everyone makes it out alive and still enjoys their siblings.

“Bob’s Burgers” is about a family of five that lives above their family owned burger joint named Bob’s Burgers. The show follows the family in all their pursuits whether it be in the store, at school or just on outings.

Each character is relatable to almost everyone. Linda is the epitome of a wine mom, but she loves to be over dramatic and the center of attention. Bob has the typical dad down. He thrives of dad jokes and makes fun of his kids, but always looks completely spent when his kids do something embarrassing.

Tina, oh Tina. In the first episode she hits puberty and that’s where she becomes what every girl is – full of boy fever. She even asks in one episode after looking at every member of the baseball teams butt if it is possible to be in love with 23 people at once. Tina also finds most of her life overwhelming and never knows how to act, but with that she exudes self confidence and often talks about her passion for writing fan fiction.

Her brother Gene is this little plump kid who knows it and loves that about himself. He finds life exhausting as well and is a bit of a drama king himself. But he knows how to joke around and is often seen being in cahoots with his younger sister Louise.

Louise steals the show when the episode has anything to do with her. She wears pink bunny ears everyday (her signature look). But don’t let that innocence fool you. Louise loves trouble and making life difficult for other kids. Her main goal is to either prank people or get rich. But as an elementary school kid that can be difficult. She hates most people and Louise almost exclusively talks in sarcasm.

This family is pretty interesting. But honestly they are like most families. They don’t have money often and they struggle to pay rent or buy certain foods. Bob even has a growing feud with the family across the street and Linda loves date night, which just adds to the families allure. Especially when Linda is quite extroverted and Bob is an introvert.

Fun fact about “Bob’s Burgers” is that every character except Louise is voiced by a man.

“Bob’s Burgers” is an animated half hour television show that is currently available through season four on Netflix, but the show is contracted out for eight seasons. So, if you enjoy this show the characters will have plenty more content coming your way.

If you enjoy “Bob’s Burgers” you may also enjoy: “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy” and “American Dad.”
