January 6, 2016 Style How to: Get Ready in a Time Crunch Almost everyone has experienced the startle and panic of oversleeping or missing an alarm. Not only are we faced with panic and frustration when our day is off to a rushed start and late arrivals, but we must also make split-decisions on our look. Some people ultimately give up and throw on the garments nearest to top of their dirty clothes pile, but dirty clothes and a messy bun doesn’t have to be the answer. With just a few easy steps, you can effortlessly throw together a look that takes no time at all. Don’t just be late – be fashionably late. Makeup To achieve a fresh-faced and “no makeup” look, use your hands to quickly blend in a BB cream, dust on a light colored blush and line your eyes to give the lashes a voluminous look. Add some mascara and tinted Chapstick to complete the look. If you have oily skin, consider dusting on some translucent powder to avoid shininess as a final step. Hair Always, and we mean always, have a can of dry shampoo on hand. It becomes an instant lifesaver on days you accidentally oversleep. Directly spray the dry shampoo at your roots and quickly rub it in with your fingers. Brush through your hair and pull your hair into a sleek ponytail or bun. Not only does it take the grease out of your hair, but it smells great, too. One of our favorites is Batiste Dry Shampoo. Clothes One of our favorite looks for when we oversleep is the T-shirt dress. This look fits every season and can be layered over tights or leggings. For extra warmth, pair with a long cardigan or leather jacket. This step can also be altered for something more your style if you aren’t a dress person. Simply throw on a loose tee shirt and skinny jeans. Depending on the event, converse or combat boots work for either looks. Perfume This is a quick final step that pulls your look together. Spritz on a few sprays of your favorite body spray or fragrance before you head out the door.
