September 6, 2013 Campus Life, Community, Events, Lifestyle, Students Five ways to spend your weekend on campus Congratulations, you made it through your second week of classes! Now it’s time to soak up what’s left of the sunshine-filled days and tackle your two days off or sit back and relax— it’s your call. If you’re at a standstill on what to do, here are some options to make it that much easier for your brain to shut off and ease into weekend mode: 1.) Head over to the home football game against New Hampshire Saturday at 3 p.m at the Kelly Shorts Stadium. Students get in free with their CMU ID. Don’t forget to show your school spirit before the game by tailgating, which starts at noon. 2.) Check out CMU and You Day. This event is created for high school students and their parents, but is an opportunity to learn about the programs offered at CMU and learn more about campus. CMU and You Day is Saturday from 9:30 to 3 p.m. at varying locations on campus. To learn more go to: https://go.cmich.edu/visit/Pages/cmu_and_you_day.aspx 3.) Enjoy the CMU University Theatre’s presentation of “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” The show opened Sept. 4 and will continue through Sept.8. The Friday and Saturday night showings will begin in Bush Theatre at 7 p.m., while Sunday’s showing will be at 2 p.m. Tickets are for sale at Ticket Central. 4.) The university will hold the Service RSO Open House on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. With over 400 RSO’s on campus, there are many opportunities to get involved. 5.) Do you want to stay active and make friends? Try signing up for an intramural sport this weekend. There are 45 different sports available to join and 12,000 students participate yearly.
