Makeup Monday: Keep Spring Break Simple with These Looks

Story & Photos by Hannah Kaske

For many of us, spring break means long beach days, warm weather and choices we may or may not tell our moms about. Although we get to let loose and go wild during spring break, our makeup look doesn’t have to be any less fun.

If you pack any makeup at all: make it highlighter! Glowy skin is so in right now, and the sun will help even more.

Glowing Goddess
To achieve a sun-kissed look, apply your favorite bronzer to your cheek bones and the outside perimeter of your face. Reveal your inner glowing goddess by applying highlighter to the high points of your face, like the bridge of your nose and the tops of your cheeks.

Even just a little bit of highlighter will bring illumination to the face, making you radiant all day. All that’s left to add is bronze-toned eye shadows and a couple coats of mascara, and you’re ready to take on the boardwalk.

Day to Night
Taking this bronze look from day to night is easier than you think. First, break away from nude lips and opt for a daring orange or red lipstick that will stop people in their tracks.

Next, try creating winged eyeliner to make the eyes appear larger. These two simple steps will ensure your night time look will be picture perfect.

You don’t need heavy layers of foundation to look good this spring break, less really is more.

So when you’re packing your bags, remember to pack your favorite highlighter and red lipstick.
