February 28, 2017 Drinks Upcoming Event Raises Awareness about Eating Disorders Story by Ashley Schafer Feature Photo via Running In Silence Facebook page In honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness week, a guest speaker will be visiting Central Michigan University on Thursday, March 2, to help raise awareness about eating disorders. Michigan native Rachael Rose Steil, author of “Running in Silence: My Drive for Perfection and the Eating Disorder That Fed It,” will be speaking at French Auditorium (EHS 118) at 5 p.m. Steil will be sharing a personal story about her struggle with eating disorders and speaking about common misconceptions that surround them. She hopes to bring awareness to this category of mental illness. There will be a bake sale and an opportunity to have your book signed. If you’d like to know more about Steil or purchase her book, visit her website. This event is free and open to the public. It is brought to you by Center of Hope Counseling, Kati Mora, MS, RDN, and CMU’s Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND).
