February 8, 2016 Drinks, Drinks, Recipes The Monday Mix: Classic Bloody Mary Does your head hurt from yelling at referees yesterday? (Sorry to break it to you, but they couldn’t hear you). Or is your headache from those empty BudLight cans sitting in your living room? Whether it was screams of cheer, yells of anger or the constant flow of beer, odds are you woke up with a slight migraine after yesterday’s Super Bowl. So, if you’re experiencing a throbbing headache with no urge to leave your bed today (which you most likely are), then a Bloody Mary is the perfect post-celebration or post-disappointment remedy. Ingredients: 1 lemon wedge, squeezed to taste 1 pinch of salt and pepper, to taste 2-ounces of vodka 4-ounces of tomato juice 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce For rim of glass: celery salt For Garnish: celery, pickle or lime wedge Recipe: First, salt the pint glass’ rim by pouring celery salt onto a small plate. Then moisten the edge of the glass with a lime or lemon wedge. Roll the rim onto the plate for a fully coated glass. Then, fill the glass with ice. In a shaker, squeeze lemon wedges and drop inside. Add in the tomato juice, vodka, Tabasco and Worcestershire sauces, salt and pepper. Shake gently and strain into the prepared pint glass. Top off the drink with a celery, pickle or lime wedge for garnish. Enjoy!
