January 28, 2021 Events, Student Lifestyle Virtual Panel to Discuss Pandemic’s Impact on Students’ Academics Story by Kersten Kruse CMU faculty and staff are invited to join a virtual panel discussion regarding the impact COVID-19 has created on students’ academic lives this Friday at noon. The online event will be facilitated by Dr. Mary Senter, who works in CMU’s department of sociology, anthropology, and social work, as well as Stephen Tracy from the department of Business Information Systems and Robert Roe of the Office of Academic Planning and Analysis. During the event, faculty and staff are encouraged to learn about and discuss the various changes CMU students have faced since the start of the pandemic. These topics have been derived by surveys completed by students regarding their learning experience during the fall 2020 semester. Provost Mary Schutten will provide opening statements before brief summary presentations are given. Themes of the presentation include online learning, quality of campus life, support networks and health issues.
