November 24, 2013 Campus Fashion, Student Styles, Style, Trend and Beauty What to wear: Thanksgiving bar night Bar hopping the night before Thanksgiving is a great time to catch up with your friends from your hometown. You want to look your best, right? Now remember, you’re going to a bar, not a club. No need for short skirts and sparkly tops. This night could call for a lot of bar hopping in order to see all of your friends and catch up so make sure what your wearing is comfortable. Whether it’s jeans, leggings, a skirt or a dress, wear whatever you are most comfortable in. If you decide to wear jeans or leggings, then wear a statement top. Don’t wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt. Instead, switch it up for a solid colored shirt with a statement necklace. Wear a cute pair of boots to finish off your look. Wearing skirts or dresses can be risky because it can be cold. Tights may be in order! Again, wear a solid colored top with your skirt or a solid colored dress. Statement necklaces can really pull an outfit together. If you are wearing a dress you can trade your statement necklace for a statement pair of shoes (perhaps a dark dress with a bright pair of heels). If you wear heels just make sure you can walk in them all night. Wedges might be a better alternative. Pictures will probably be taken since you haven’t seen some of these friends since the summer so make sure your hair and makeup look perfect! Leave your hair down with a few curls or waves in it. A tip for your makeup- don’t do anything too bold. Just make your eyes stand out, put some lip-gloss on and call it good. (Photo Illustration | Shannon Millard) Carry a purse that you can have on you all night and won’t be in the way. Make it small because you won’t need to carry much with you all night; just make sure you have your wallet, cellphone and any other essentials with you at all times. While it is important to look good on this night, the main focus is to catch up with your friends that you haven’t seen in a while. Enjoy your night out (and turn a few heads while doing so).
