November 25, 2014 Athletics, Food & Wellness, Photo Gallery Photo Story: Game Time – Chippewas vs Broncos Despite having the home field advantage and having won last year, the Central Michigan University Chippewas fell to the Western Michigan University Broncos, 32-20 in the annual rivalry game Saturday. The Chippewas stand at 7-5 for the season and are bowl-eligible as the Broncos, now 8-3, lead the series 46-37-2 all-time between these long time rivals. Sophomore quarterback Cooper Rush finished the game 24-44 passing for the Chippewas with 248 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions while the team only rushed for 70 total yards. The defense allowed 362 total yards, 233 passing and 129 rushing, and the Chippewas turned the ball over four times. The Chippewas have lost to the Broncos in three of the last four games in this series, but this loss will hopefully add more fuel to the fire for next year when the Chippewas and Broncos square off. Despite the loss, the Chippewas are fired up heading into a now uncertain bowl game match up to end their season.
