October 27, 2015 Drinks, Food, Food & Beverage, Recipes Spice Up the Tradition: Seasoned Roasted Pumpkin Seeds Halloween is right around the corner and one thing that college students can’t deny their love for is carving pumpkins. Not only does carving a pumpkin bring out our inner-kid and create festive porch decor, but you also get to make a fresh, homemade holiday treat: roasted pumpkin seeds. But now you can add more than just salt to those seeds. Garlic Pumpkin Seeds Ingredients: 2 ½ cups of pumpkin seeds ¼ cup canola oil 1 teaspoon of garlic powder Ranch Pumpkin Seeds Ingredients: 2 cups of pumpkin seeds 3 tablespoons canola oil 1 packet Hidden Valley powdered ranch dressing mix Cinnamon-Sugar Pumpkin Seeds Ingredients: 1 ½ cups of pumpkin seeds 2 tablespoons canola oil 2 tablespoon granulated sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon ½ teaspoon nutmeg ¼ teaspoon salt Directions to roast your favorite seed flavor: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Rinse the pumpkin seeds, then put them into a large bowl. Add in the oil and seasonings until the seeds are coated evenly. Pour the seasoned seeds onto a greased baking sheet. Roast the seeds for 30 minutes or until golden and crunchy. Enjoy!
