September 14, 2011 Arts & Entertainment, Events, Featured, Music Local Event: First Annual MI Fest Saturday The wait is over. The highly anticipated, first annual MI Fest will be held this Saturday, at the Michigan International Speedway of Brooklyn, MI. The event will showcase Michigan acts such as Jack White‘s The Raconteurs, Jeff Daniels, The Romantics, Bear Lake, Mitch Ryder (The Detroit Wheels), Black Milk, Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad), Alto Reed AllStars, and yes – Sheryl Crow (not from Michigan, but always welcome). Not only will these artists be pumping out Michigan jams – Michigan produce, art, and other products (such as Kid Rock’s Badass American Lager) will be available to attendees. Concert goers may also opt to camp for the night – so bring supplies, and prepare for the Michigan elements. The event will boast three stages – the MI Stage, the MI Fest Stage, and the Third Man Stage. The Third Man Stage, for the most part, will showcase artists signed to Jack White’s Tennessee based record label – Third Man Records. In addition to White’s label lineup, the famed Third Man Rolling Record Store will be on-site for all rare vinyl collectors’ needs.
