February 22, 2016 Drinks, Drinks, Food & Beverage, Recipes The Monday Mix: Mai Tai Cocktail The snow is melting, the sun is shining and spring break is two weeks away. I repeat – spring break is two weeks away! The need to day drink is creeping into the minds of everyone and a fruity taste of sunshine is an absolute must. So, rather than day dream of your upcoming spring break plans that obviously include a colada or two, make a Mai Tai Cocktail. This drink is just what you need to dive into a sunshine state of mind with the perfect island getaway taste. Ingredients: 1.5 ounces of spiced rum 1.5 ounces of coconut flavored rum 1 teaspoon of grenadine syrup 3-ounces of pineapple juice 2-ounces of orange juice ice cubes Garnish: any slice of fruit (orange, lemon, lime, cherry, etc.) Recipe: Begin by putting ice into a cocktail mixer. Then, combine all the ingredients: spiced rum, coconut rum, grenadine, pineapple and orange juice. Shake the mixer and strain the drink into an ice-filled glass. Add any fruit to the rim for garnish. Enjoy!
