Uncle John’s Cider Mill Offers A Day Of Fun For Any Ocassion

Looking for something fun to do that’s not far from campus? Uncle John’s Cider Mill is roughly 30-45 minutes away from Central Michigan University. Walking the orchard can make for a fun, simple day with friends or a date. Uncle John’s hosts a variety of events throughout its season; craft shows, 5ks, pumpkin picking and a corn maze are some of the event the mill has to offer. Uncle John’s opens May 27.

Coming south on 127, drivers can see the large mill that’s situated on the left side of the highway.

Uncle John’s has a large orchard that is open for public walkthroughs. The orchards host Macintosh, Golden Delicious, Gala, Honey Crisp, Cortland and Northern Spy apple trees. Bundles of apples can be bought at the Pie Barn.

The Pie Barn has all the goodies for purchase. Uncle John’s is known for their specialty breads, homemade pies, cider and donuts and also has a selection of Michigan Made Jerky and Summer Sausage as well as a cheese selection, preserves, local honey and maple syrup. The Pie Barn also has a gift shop.

Thursday – Sunday, Uncle John’s tasting bar is open where guest can enjoy cider flights, cans, drafts, drink specials and glasses of wine. These fruit flavored hard ciders and wines can also be purchased from the Pie Barn.
