March 26, 2012 Arts & Entertainment, Events World Changers host benefit concert Central Michigan World Changers will be holding a benefit concert to help raise money to support families and children in Uganda. Come join the Central Michigan World Changers, the student branch of Heart Cry International non-profit organization, for their benefit concert and a night of live music and entertainment! The concert is Wednesday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bovee University Center third floor auditorium. (photograph-Pastor Carla Ives) World Changers is putting on this benefit concert as a way to raise the $10,000 needed to purchase a vehicle for the orphanage and mission teams run by Heart Cry International in Uganda. The van will provide a safe form of transportation for all of the children from My Heart’s Home Uganda. The vehicle will also be used to rent to visiting American and European mission teams to generate income and help the homes become self-sufficient. Tickets are $5 at the door and can also be purchased ahead of time. World Changers T-shirts, snacks, and beverages will also be available for purchase and 100% of all proceeds will go directly to Heart Cry International. A church in Georgia has pledged $10,000 if World Changers and Heart Cry International will match it. Lineup for the event’s performers include barbershop quartet Ebb N’ Flow, Jazz Sextet by Bierenga, arabic influenced music performed by Wisaal and the acoustic folk music by Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers. Between acts, World Changers will be showing an informational video about the cause and work they do to show supporters what their time and tickets donations will contribute to Those who attend will have a chance to enter a raffle for gift cards and other prizes. Take some time out of your Wednesday to relax, hang out and listen to music by some very talented performers for a great cause!
