May 10, 2011 Featured, Recipes Bite Size Nachos: Great taste without the mess (Zac Freeland | Grand Central Magazine) At the ball game, at the movies, at the carnival – nachos are always a fan favorite. But, ordering nachos is messy and requires you to leave your house to get. So, why not make bite-size nachos? In a few simple steps, you can make nachos with custom toppings for yourself or for a group of friends. (Zac Freeland | Grand Central Magazine) Ingredients (This recipe yields approximately 80 Scoops): 1 lb. of ground beef 1 envelope of taco seasoning mix 1 16-oz bag of shredded Mexican style cheese 1 bag of TOSTITOS brand “SCOOPS” Nacho Toppings – choose your favorite. For example; diced tomatoes, chopped green onions, black olives, diced jalapenos, salsa, sour cream. Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees while browning ground beef till it is no longer pink. It is important to break the meat up until it is crumbled extremely fine. Once the meat is crumbled as small as you can make it the next step is to drain the grease from the pan. After draining the grease, add the taco seasoning mix and cook according to the directions on the envelope. Fill the bottom half of TOSTITOS SCOOPS with taco meat and the remaining top half with Mexican style shredded cheese, making sure to pack the meat and cheese down slightly with your fingers. Place the desired number of bite-size nachos in 350 degree oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or till the cheese is completely melted. Garnish with your favorite nacho toppings. If you’re looking for a more traditional nacho, substitute the “Scoops” for “Restaurant Style” chips.
