You can check out the beautiful colors on the trees as you stroll through campus or meet up with friends at tailgate before you head over to the football game to support our fellow Chippewas into victory. Smoothies may not seem like a fall treat, but paired with a fall activity, you’re sure to be craving one of our recipes. Our Recipes Try the best way to enjoy the crisp fall air and visit Uncle John’s Cider Mill for an afternoon of apple picking, fresh cider and doughnuts. Since you might be full from indulging in their warm treats, save the apples you picked to make a delicious apple pie smoothie. Apple Pie Smoothie 1 apple, sliced and cored 3/4 cup vanilla almond milk 1/4 cup instant oats 1 teaspoon apple pie spice 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground Ice cubes, as needed Don’t worry, I didn’t forget about the the pumpkin craze. Pumpkin Spice Latte Smoothie 1/2 cup canned pumpkin or pumpkin puree 1 banana 1/3 cup instant oats 3/4 cup vanilla almond milk 1/2 tablespoon almond butter 1/4 teaspoon instant coffee grounds 1/8 teaspoon pumpkin spice Ice cubes, as needed Thanksgiving will be here any day now, so before you binge on that giant feast, indulge on this healthy treat. Cranberry Walnut Smoothie 3/4 cup frozen cranberries 1/2 cup Greek vanilla yogurt 1/4 cup walnuts 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground 1 tablespoon coconut oil Ice cubes, as needed Substitute Ingredients Feel free to substitute almond milk for cow’s milk, regular yogurt, Greek yogurt or half of an avocado. You can add cinnamon, nutmeg or honey to enhance the flavor, while chia seeds, flax seeds and instant oats can add texture to your smoothie. It’s also never a bad idea to add extra protein to your smoothies, it will help keep you full. Start blending and satisfy your fall cravings!
