September 7, 2017 Beauty, Style & Beauty How to: A Warm, Sultry Makeup Look for Fall Story by Hailee Kaske There’s nothing better than feeling confident when your makeup is on point. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut of doing a natural and neutral eye look for everyday glam. Every once in a while, it’s exciting to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. A warm-toned cranberry look is sultry, bold and perfect for the fall season. To begin this look, it’s important to have neutral or warm toned eye shadows. If you want a pink or cranberry eyeshadow look but have limited products, blush works as eyeshadow too. Some great options for eyeshadows to repeat this look would be the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette, Nyx individual eyeshadows, MAC Burgundy eyeshadow palette, Violet Voss Holy Grail palette and the Morphe 35O. With a large, fluffy blending brush, blend a transition shade into the crease. This is a color similar to your own skin tone, but to better match the cranberry vibe, go for an orange or a pink. Once your transition shade is down, it’s time to add some color and depth. With a smaller blending brush, pick up a darker cranberry color to put in your “outer v”. This is the outer half of your crease and outer part of your lid. This will add depth to your eyes and really pull the look together. Blend that color in a back and forth motion. Next, pick up a lighter shimmery or matte shadow to pat over your entire lid. This will brighten up your eyes and finish the look. If you want something more glam, add glitter to the lid. Highlight the inner corner of the eye and brow bone to brighten and open up the eyes even more. To finish off the look, assess if you want to add more to the cranberry color. If you do, pick up more of that darker warm color and blend it in the “outer v” of the eye. However, if you want to tone down the look go back in with that initial transition shade and place it over the “outer v” to subdue the look. Make sure your blush is either neutral or warm toned, and go for a pink or nude blush so it doesn’t overpower the eyes. For an everyday look, pair this with a nude lipstick or gloss. To glam it up, go for a cranberry or dark lip. Make sure you snap a selfie with your new bold, warm-toned, cranberry eye! You can tag @gcmag on Instagram to show off your look.
