March 15, 2016 Drinks, Drinks, Recipes Make It Grand: Homemade Spiked Shamrock Shake Every college student’s favorite holiday is coming up shortly – St. Patrick’s Day. It’s custom for everyone to dress in green from head-to-toe, and for one day, everyone becomes Irish. So, your drink should too, right? A homemade (spiked) shamrock shake is the drink you are looking for. It’s festive, delicious and did I mention spiked? Many look forward to the traditional shamrock shake each year, and now you can create an original treat for your holiday celebration. The party is only two days away, so the time is now to begin planning how to make it grand. After all, you don’t want to be pinched. Ingredients: 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream 2-ounces of Creme de Menthe Liqueur 1.5-ounces of Jameson Irish Whiskey 5 drops of green food coloring A splash of vanilla extract Whipped cream for garnish Maraschino cherry for garnish Recipe: Begin by combining the vanilla ice cream, Creme de Menthe Liqueur, Jameson, vanilla extract and food coloring in a blender. Then, blend on high until smooth. Pour the drink into a tall glass. Top it off with whipped cream and a cherry. Enjoy! Make a drink, get your Irish on and let the festivities commence!
