September 16, 2014 Campus, Community, Students Alpha Leadership: Week One This is part one of a five-part series about Central Michigan University students who are taking part in Alpha Leadership at Central Michigan University. College is about experiencing growth, enhancing your leadership skills and gaining a sense of self. What better way to do this than taking part in Alpha Leadership? Alpha Leadership is a program at Central Michigan University allowing intellectual and personal enrichment through five weeks of activities, concluding with a graduation ceremony. During the five weeks, students are guided by student facilitators and are able to meet with different leaders on campus to achieve and develop personal leadership goals. The program also helps students network with fellow peers to gain connections with leaders, professors and future employers. Alpha Leadership is put on by the Central Michigan University Leadership Educational and Development program in hopes of helping students find their own leadership style and promoting relationships with other individuals who have mutual goals. Students who are enrolled in the program will delve into personal and team leadership, community membership and volunteerism in addition to gaining effective communication skills.
